How to Fix ‘iPhone 6S Shutdown with Battery Left’

iPhones can be very fun devices and are one of the easiest mobile phones to use out there. Unfortunately, they have their fair share of problems.

Currently, one of the recently found issues with iPhones is that with the 6S, many of them have been turning off whilst the battery is more than 20% full.

This can be frustrating, especially if you’re like the majority of people who take their iPhone 6S battery percentage into consideration when planning their day.

So with that in mind, in this article, we are going to look at how you can deal with the iPhone 6S shutdown with a battery left without too much hassle.

First, Backing Up Your Data

Before you can fix iPhone 6S shut down with the battery left, to prevent any data loss during the process, it’s important that you take a backup of your data.

#1 – Start off by downloading the Dr.Fone program and installing it accordingly. Once it’s installed, launch it.

#2 – Next, click on the “Phone Backup” tool.

#3 – On the next display, you will be able to selectively decide on the data types that you want to have backed up. Once you’ve done so, click “Backup“.

This first method is the most efficient as it uses Dr.Fone, although if it isn’t for you, there are a few other methods out there.

This next method can be done directly from your iPhone 6S.

#1 – On your iPhone 6S, open up the “Settings” application and tap on the “iCloud” option.

#2 – Next, click on the “Backup” option. From here, make sure that the “iCloud Backup” is enabled, and lastly, click on the “Back Up Now” button.

Note: to make sure that all of your data isn’t used by backing up your iPhone, I suggest doing this whilst you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.

#3 – How long the backup takes simply depends on the speeds of the network that you are connected to.

Alternatively, you can use the standard iTunes data backup method although if you’re a frequent Apple device user, you’ll know how iTunes is a very inconsistent and buggy program to use.

Second, Wiping Your Device

As some devices may only be replaced, I suggest wiping your iPhone 6S just in case. To do this, simply follow the steps below.

#1 – Once again, take your iPhone 6S and open up your “Settings” application.

#2 – From here, select the “General” option, scroll to the bottom and tap on the “Reset” option, and lastly tap on the “Erase All Content and Settings” option.

#3 – This will remove all of the data from your device as if it were brand new.
This process should take only a few minutes and although not necessary; it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Third, Getting a Replacement Battery

Now that you’ve backed up your device, you can move on to fixing the iPhone 6S shut down with the battery left issue. Fortunately, you won’t have to spend a penny.

After hearing about how many devices have been impacted by this issue, Apple vowed to replace every reported device’s battery without charge. All you have to do is visit an Apple store, make an appointment with them to have your battery replaced, and show up to that appointment. They will replace the battery then and there so that you don’t have to send your device away!

Forth, Restoring Data After Fixing iPhone 6S Shutdown with Battery Left

Now that you’ve had your battery replaced, it’s time to get your data back onto your device so that you can once again have access to it all. With Dr.Fone – iPhone Data Recovery, you can do just that.

#1 – Provided that you had previously installed Dr.Fone Toolkit for iOS to take a backup, simply launch the program. Click on the “Data Recovery” option.

#2 – If you had used iTunes to take a backup of your device’s data, click on the “Recover from iTunes Backup File” option from the left panel. This will display all of the backups which you have taken with iTunes. If you stored data in iCloud, please click “Recover from iCloud Backup File” instead.

#3 – Select the most recent backup which has been taken of your iPhone 6S and click on the “Start Scan” button.

#6 – How long the data restoration process take is dependent on how much data you are restoring, although it should only take a few minutes before you have full access to your data once again.
