There’s no arguing that when it comes to having photos stored on your iPhone, ever so often you have to take a few hours out of your day to organize & manage photos on iPhone. As unfortunate as this is, unless you want to have your iPhone filled to the brim with photos and have next to no idea what most of them are, this is what you have to do. With that in mind, in this article, we will be taking a look at some of the methods which will help you to easily organize and manage the photos which are on your iPhone.
Why You Should Manage Your iPhone Photos
Believe it or not, iPhone photos are one of the data types which take up the most amount of space on your device. That being said, if any iPhone users were to take the time and look through all of the photos which they have stored on their iPhone, they would find that a lot of them are photos which either they don’t want or are completely useless.
If you don’t take the time to clear out your iPhone photos and organize them the best that you can, your device will slowly reach capacity and you won’t be able to download any more apps, take any more photos, or store music on your device. For these reasons, it’s a very good idea to take a few minutes out of your day every so often to simply organize & manage photos on iPhone.
Part 1. Using the Photos App to Organize & Manage Photos on iPhone
By following the simple steps below, you are able to organize the photos which are currently on your iPhone, by using the standard “Photos” application that is on your iPhone.
#1 – Start by picking up your iPhone, unlocking it if necessary, and directing yourself over to the “Photos” application which by default, is on the first menu screen.
#2 – On the Photos app, the first thing that you will be able to see is your current “Album” setup. By default, these will be “Videos”, “Camera Roll”, “Screenshots”, and any other albums or folders that you have created.
Note: if you don’t want to have your photos sorted by their album for this process, go ahead and tap on the “Photos” option at the bottom left of the display of your device.
#3 – At the top left, click on the plus (+) sign. This will allow you to create a new album.
#4 – A notification will then appear on your screen. Enter a name for your new album. Click “Save” when you’ve decided on an album name.
Note: To make your albums as organized as possible, I suggest that you title your album as relevant as possible. For example, if you are going to have all of your animal pictures in this album, name it “Animals”.
#5 – Now that you’ve created an album, you must put the necessary photos into it! After creating the album, you will be shown all of your device’s photos. Simply take the time to scroll through all of your photos, and select each of the photos which you’d like to have stored in that album.
#6 – Once you’ve selected all of the photos, click “Done” and they will be saved in their new album.
Alternatively, if you already have albums created, you can move photos to their appropriate albums using the steps below.
#1 – Just like before, head over to the “Photos” application but this time, enter the album which contains photos that you’d like to add to another album.
#2 – Tap on the “Select” option at the top right and select each photo that you’d like to have moved.
#3 – After they’re all selected, tap on the “Add To” button at the bottom right of your device’s display and select the album that you’d like to have them moved to from the menu shown on the display.
Both of these are completely viable methods, there’s no argument about it. However, neither of them are even close to being ideal. The biggest benefit to these methods is that they are usable by anyone who has an Apple device, although they are very inefficient and can take several hours out of your day.
