With the new iPhone 7 series recently being released and everyone rushing to get their hands on this new piece of innovative technology, there is one question that all WeChat users are left asking. How are we able to transfer WeChat history to new iPhone 7 Plus/7? It’s a real question. Apple is yet to supply us with tools that allow for us to easily transfer from one to a device to the other, especially in terms of selectively transferring data. With this in mind, in this article, we are going to be taking a closer look at how you can use the TunesGo program to transfer your WeChat history and data onto your brand new iPhone 7.

Part 1. Why Should I Transfer WeChat History to New iPhone 7 Plus/7?

If you aren’t a part of the majority and aren’t bothered about losing your chat messages, you won’t be interested in doing this. That being said, most of us like to hold on to our text messages and any messenger messages that we have. Our messages hold some sort of sentimental value to us, and the best thing about it is that text messages don’t take up a lot of capacity on our devices. If you want to hold on to your messages, which you should do, then read on the methods below.

Part 2. Using WeChat to Transfer Your Messages to Your New iPhone

This first method is one which you can do in just a few minutes and is one which everyone has access to. All you need is your old phone, your new phone, and a few moments of your time.

Step #1 – First, make sure that you have both your old phone and your new iPhone 7 next to one another and ready to go.

Step #2 – On your old device, open up the “WeChat” application.

Step #3 – Once you’re on the application, head over to the “Settings” menu followed by the “General” option, and lastly click on the “Chat Log Migration” option.

Step #4 – A display will appear prompting you to begin the migration process. Click on the “Select Chat Transcript” button. Take a minute to go through you chat messages and select the messages that you want to have transferred.

Step #5 – On your new iPhone 7, open up the “WeChat” application and sign into your account.

Step #6 – To transfer the conversations over to your new device, simply scan the QR Code which is shown on your old device.

Note: in order for you to successfully transfer WeChat history to new iPhone 7 Plus/7 it’s important that both your new and old devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Step #7 – The process should take a matter of seconds, and once it’s complete, you will now have access to your WeChat history on your iPhone 7 Plus.

This method is very simple and allows for you to specifically transfer WeChat history to new iPhone 7 Plus/7 and do so in a few minutes. However, if you are looking to transfer all of the data.

Part 3. Using TunesGo to Transfer WeChat History to New iPhone 7 Plus/7

This second method is the one which I highly recommend using for a lot of different reasons although ultimately, it’s the best method to get the job done.

For this method, we will be using TunesGo. Simply follow the steps below accurately, and you’ll have no problem in gaining access to your WeChat history on your new device.

Step #1 – Start off by downloading the TunesGo program from the website, installing it accordingly, and launching it.

Step #2 – Once you have the program open and ready to go, go ahead and connect both of your devices using the appropriate USB cables. It may take a few moments for the program to detect their connection.

Step #3 – On the home page of TunesGo, click on the “Phone to Phone Transfer” option which is shown.

Step #4 – A display will then be shown. Make sure that the iPhone 7 device is on the right side and is the “Target Device”. If this isn’t the case, simply set it to the iPhone 7. Click “Next”.

Step #5 – On the next display you will be provided with the option to either transfer all of the data on your device, or selectively transfer data.

Step #6 – Click on the “Transfer” button when you’re ready to move forward.

Step #7 – The transfer process depends on how much data you are transferring although once it’s done, you will have access to not only your WeChat history, but all of the data that was on your old device too.

As you can see, there is no questioning which method is the most preferable as it is clear that TunesGo is the method which yields the best results. While the first method is viable due to it being available to everyone, TunesGo is what I recommend using.

Part 4. Comparing the Methods

Both methods have their benefits although as I said above, my recommendation is to use TunesGo. My main reason for this is that although we are focussing on transferring WeChat history, with TunesGo you are able to transfer all of the data that you have on your old device straight onto your new device. Furthermore, TunesGo doesn’t require for you to have extensive tech knowledge, making it a viable option for everyone.

Part 5. What TunesGo Has to Offer

Below are some more of the best features which TunesGo has to offer.

  • Free Version. If you’re worried about purchasing a program that isn’t of much use to you, there is a free version available that allows you to try it before you buy it.
  • iTunes Management. If you are moving from an iPhone to an Android device, then it can be frustrating that you can’t get your data on your new device. However, with TunesGo you are able to do just that. With TunesGo, easily transfer iTunes data onto an Android device without having to account for compatibility issues!
  • Contact Clean-up. Last but not least, if you have a messy phonebook and don’t want to spend the time getting rid of duplicate contacts or removing old information, TunesGo can get the job done for you.

TunesGo allows you to get a lot more out of your device and can do a lot more than both Samsung Kies and iTunes combined. Other than being able to transfer WeChat history to new iPhone 7 Plus/7, you are able to do so much more.
